Finding Confidence Again: How the Wimbledon Speakers Club Helps You Find Your Voice
Over the past few years, many of us have grown used to communicating through screens — typing instead of talking, muting instead of speaking up. It’s no surprise that confidence and connection have taken a hit.
A recent piece on The One Show (BBC) highlighted how so many young people are missing out on vital soft skills — the everyday communication and confidence that help us succeed in life. But it’s not just young people. Many adults are realising how hard it can be to speak up in meetings, introduce themselves, or simply feel at ease in front of others.
That’s where the Wimbledon Speakers Club comes in.
A Warm Welcome in the Heart of London
We’re a friendly community where people come together to Some members join to overcome nerves; others come because they want to get better at presenting at work — or just because they enjoy learning something new.
Every Monday evening at Wimbledon Library, we create a space that’s equal parts encouraging, supportive, and surprisingly fun. You’ll get to speak (if you want to), listen to others, and pick up practical tips that help you communicate with more confidence in all areas of life.
The Confidence You Build Lasts Far Beyond the Stage
The great thing about joining a speakers club isn’t just becoming a better public speaker — it’s becoming more you. You’ll start noticing small changes: feeling calmer in social situations, contributing more in meetings, and expressing yourself with greater clarity and ease.
And yes, there are plenty of public speaking clubs in London — but few with the same warmth, humour, and community spirit you’ll find here.
Come Along — Your First Visit Is Free
If you’ve ever wanted to feel more confident speaking in front of others, come and see what the Wimbledon Speakers Club is all about. There’s no pressure, no spotlight — just a group of friendly people cheering each other on.
We meet at 6:45pm every other week at Wimbledon Library, and first-time guests are always welcome to attend for free.
